2024 Bedfordale Bush Market Stallholder Terms and Conditions

GENERAL:

The Committee selects stallholders from the applications submitted based on a variety of factors. Acceptance of stallholders to The Markets is entirely at The Committee’s discretion.

Submitting an application does not mean you have been accepted to attend the markets.

Party plan or multi-level marketing stalls will not be accepted.

Political candidates may not have a stall or hand out campaigning material.

The stallholder will comply in all respects with all requirements of all Government, Local Authority and Statutory Bodies throughout the duration of The Markets.

All plant, machinery and stall displays must comply with statutory requirements.

The market organisers may, at their sole discretion, cancel the markets or disband the markets in situations of extreme weather events, bushfires or any other circumstance deemed to be adverse to the smooth running and safe operation of the markets.  If the markets are cancelled prior to the setting up of the markets fees will be transferred to a future agreeable date. If The markets are disbanded after their commencement, fees are non-refundable - a 50% concession rate will be granted at a future market.

The stallholder is at all times during the markets required to keep their stall open to view and properly staffed by competent representatives.

SETUP:

Stalls/Sites are to be set up and vehicles parked in the designated stallholder parking areas at least 30 minutes prior to the market opening.

There will be no movement of vehicles whilst the market is open to the public (except in exceptional circumstance and only with permission from The Organisers, vehicle must be escorted out by a person on foot).

Stallholders must provide, and set up, their own marquees, tables and any other equipment required.

PARKING:

There is limited parking at the Bedfordale Hall. To ensure adequate parking for customers, Stallholders are required to park vehicles in the designated stallholder parking area.  The Market Organisers will direct Stallholders to this area on arrival.

HEALTH AND SAFETY:

The Stallholder is responsible for the safety of the public within their allocated stall/site area and for the safety of the products/services sold.

The Stallholder must ensure that all shelters, tables, display boards etc are adequately secured and comply with any safety requests from the Market Organisers.

Straps/ropes/objects/electric cables etc must not present as a tripping hazard.

All marquees must be in good repair and secured with appropriate marquee leg weights.

All power cables and electrical equipment must have been certified and tagged within the previous 12 months.

Gas bottles and gas cookware must meet Australian Standards, be maintained in a safe operating condition and not be accessible by the public.

All walkways should be kept clear during the operating time of the market.

All Stallholders vending any foods/drinks (whether prepared on site or not) must be licensed by the City of Armadale, display their license and comply with public health and labelling requirements.

CLOSING AND CLEANUP:

Stallholders are required to remain open for the entire market duration.  Stall/site area is to be left clean and tidy.

ENVIRONMENT:

The Bedfordale Bush Markets aims to reduce all waste resulting from the markets. Stallholders should not use disposable plastic bags, polystyrene food containers or disposable plastic plates, straws and cups as these are unable to be recycled.

Disposable cardboard foodware or reuseable crockery and cutlery are strongly encouraged.

Market volunteers may be available to wash crockery and cutlery. Contact the market organisers for more information.

PLANT STALLS:

All stalls selling plants should ensure the plants are displayed on tables or on tarpaulins on the ground to prevent the spread of Dieback into Bungendore Park. Any soil spilt should be swept up and disposed of in a landfill bin NOT placed in the bushland. This serious plant disease is spread through soil and has the potential to kill half of Bungendore Park’s native species and many introduced garden species. Once introduced it can not be cured. For more information see - www.dieback.net.au

BOOKING AND PAYMENT:

No booking payments will be processed or accepted until the committee has accepted the applicant and provided the Stallholder with the payment details.

INSURANCE:

All stallholders must hold current Public Liability Insurance of not less than $5,000,000.

DEFINITIONS:

The Organisers of the event will be the Bedfordale Connect Inc committee and its designated servants or agents.

The Committee is the committee established by Bedfordale Connect for the purpose of organising the Bedfordale Bush Markets, hereafter referred to as The Markets.
